Our Philosophy:

At Clares Place we strive to provide modern, achievable and easy to follow patterns that showcase the beautiful fabrics available today!

About me:

To me being a designer is not just a job – it’s a lifestyle.  It is something I have done for as long as I can remember.  But the best part about being a designer is finding a medium you can be passionate about and want to design with.

I have not always been interested in sewing.   I was taught the basics of sewing as a child by my mother and grandmother but I didn’t embrace the skills they taught me (and forgot much of it).   I believe much of my lack of interest was due to the fabrics available at the time, to me they were quite uninspiring.  Fast forward a few years: I had just become a mother and recently finished university studies.  I found myself a little lost - I needed a hobby, something I could challenge myself with.  That’s when I was introduced to the wonderful fabrics on the market.  I fell in LOVE, they were exactly what I needed to inspire me and take up sewing again.  I soon began teaching myself how to quilt and not long after I started designing and creating quilts from my own ideas.  After some encouragement from family I wrote my first pattern: ‘Twinkle, Twinkle’ and have been designing and sewing with fabric ever since!

Our current pattern line comprises quilt, bag, clothing and softie patterns that are easy to follow, include plenty of diagrams and illustrations to walk you through the more difficult steps to help make your creative experience as enjoyable as possible.

It is my hope that my patterns and designs inspire you to make something new, exciting and fun. That they help you feel the satisfaction that comes from completing a new sewing project and then enjoy the benefit of all your hard work.
